Description
Art Clay Silver Paste 10g is an essential companion for any jeweller working with metal clay. Developed specifically for joining, repairing, and refining, this paste allows you to securely bond dry clay, fired pieces, and fine silver findings with confidence. Its slightly higher water content ensures excellent adhesion, making it ideal for delicate corrections and structural reinforcement.
Transform Natural Forms into Pure Silver
One of the most compelling uses of this paste is its ability to capture organic textures in extraordinary detail. Applied in layers over natural materials such as leaves, twigs, paper, or dried flowers, it creates faithful replicas in solid fine silver after firing. This opens up endless creative opportunities for nature-inspired jewellery and one-of-a-kind artistic pieces.
Versatile Application for Creative Techniques
Beyond repairs, the paste is a powerful creative tool. It can be brushed, dabbed, drizzled, or layered to build unique textures and surfaces. Whether you are adding subtle detailing or constructing layered designs, the paste responds smoothly and predictably. It is also excellent for filling cracks, gaps, and surface imperfections—simply apply generously, allow for shrinkage, and refine after drying.
Reliable Composition and Firing Performance
Before firing, the paste contains approximately 90% silver particles, combined with binder and water. During firing, the binder burns away, leaving behind fine silver with a purity exceeding 99.96%. The material shrinks by approximately 8–9%, which should be considered when applying layers or building up designs. Art Clay Silver Paste can be fired using a kiln, torch, or gas stove, making it suitable for both professional studios and smaller workshops. Its low firing temperature also allows it to be used alongside compatible materials such as ceramics and glass, as well as sterling silver components.
Trusted, Sustainable Material
Made from 100% recycled silver, Art Clay Silver is both environmentally responsible and widely trusted by professionals since its introduction in 1995. It can be hallmarked as fine silver (999) at UK Assay Offices, ensuring its authenticity and quality.
