The number of a saw blade depends on the number of saw teeth per centimeter. Thus, the finer the saw blade, the more teeth it has. Finer saw blades are better for cutting thinner metals, while coarser blades are recommended for thicker metals, as shown in the table below. Depending on the material, there may be exceptions. As a general rule, the thickness of the metal should be equal to the space between two saw teeth. Saw blades are generally sold in dozens, i.e., 12 pieces.
