How to Choose the Right Size Saw Blade?
Sawing is one of the techniques employed by all goldsmiths and jewellery artists. Although mastering this skill requires practice, proficiency in sawing allows for the creation of beautiful and diverse jewellery pieces. However, choosing the right saw blade can be quite challenging, as they come in various sizes. Each material thickness corresponds to certain sizes of saw blades. These should be changed regularly according to the material. Additionally, the requirements for the saw blade teeth may change during the work process. For example, a thicker saw blade is necessary for straight cuts, but a finer blade is better suited for curved cutting. Quick changes of saw blades will soon become second nature.

The number of a saw blade depends on the number of saw teeth per centimeter. Thus, the finer the saw blade, the more teeth it has. Finer saw blades are better for cutting thinner metals, while coarser blades are recommended for thicker metals, as shown in the table below. Depending on the material, there may be exceptions. As a general rule, the thickness of the metal should be equal to the space between two saw teeth. Saw blades are generally sold in dozens, i.e., 12 pieces.
