High quality construction

Measuring 1.40mm wide this Diamond Twist Drill bit is ideal for drilling holes in gemstones for jewellery applications, and can also be used to drill holes in glass. Made from steel, the working part of the drill bit (12mm) is coated in tiny diamond pieces for a high quality drill hole in more challenging, hard materials such as glass and stone.

Recommended usage:

It is recommended that you mark the position of the hole in preparation of drilling. Designed to be used in conjunction with a pendant drill, hobby drill, micromotor or even a pin vice to cut or grind away a surface. However, using this drill bit in a bench drill, rather than a pendant motor or flex shaft, will reduce the risk of of breakage when drilling gems or stones. The drill bit should be used intermittently with light pressure rather than a single, high pressure action. Using cooling liquid such as drilling oil or ‘Burr Life lubricant’ will improve tool life. Whilst using a cooling liquid we also recommend a drill speed of 5000 -8000.
